Cost Efficiency — Senior

Compare reserved, spot, serverless, and owned capacity using workload shape and interruption tolerance. Include performance economics: an optimization that halves CPU but doubles engineering complexity may not repay.

Model retention, compaction, replication, cross-region transfer, hardware acceleration, and carbon or power constraints. Use budgets and anomaly detection without incentivizing teams to hide necessary reliability cost.

Test yourself

  1. Which workload tolerates spot interruption?
  2. How do you value engineering complexity?
  3. Which replication cost protects a real objective?
  4. What anomaly requires immediate investigation?
